What would you eat for your last meal?

I was watching Oz the other day ('cause, you know, it's 1997) and they showed a prisoner on Death Row having his last meal. It got me thinking about the oddly sentimental tradition.

The infamous faces of American criminal history have made some interesting choices for their final meals. John Wayne Gacy had dozen deep-fried shrimp, a bucket of original recipe chicken from KFC, French fries, and a pound of strawberries. Aileen Wuornos kept it simple with a hamburger and a cup of coffee. Timothy McVeigh had two pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream.

I don't plan on being executed by firing squad anytime soon, but since I'm a foodie, meals are important to me -- and the last one would have to be a doozy.

Food's a sentimental thing, so my last one would include both favorites and memories. It may be a morbid premise, but still, it's fun to fantasize about the ultimate meal! (Unfortunately. cocktails aren't generally allowed.) Here's my list:

  • Spaghetti: I grew up with my grandmother's spaghetti with meat sauce - that'd have to be on the menu.
  • Sushi rolls: Vegas and Rainbow are a must.
  • A big slice of New York-style pepperoni pizza. Dripping.
  • Chili's Southwestern eggrolls: my guilty pleasure - love at first taste.
  • A meatball sub!
  • Sausage with peppers and onions!
  • Nachos with queso blanco, guacamole, peppers and carnitas.
  • A big slice of homemade apple pie. A la mode, naturement!
  • A root beer float!
  • Chick-Fil-A iced tea: so Southern and sugary, it's deadly by itself!
Digest in peace.

What would your last meal include?
